A popular city tradition returns this summer, as the 2017 Fremont Mayor’s Concert Series in the Park debuts Sunday at Birchard Park.
The series of free concerts starts Sunday, with Oldies singer Brian Brenner taking the stage at 7 p.m. The Brenner concert will include a visit from Elvis, according to the mayor’s office.
“We appreciate the bands that are coming and the folks in the community that make it happen,” said Mayor Danny Sanchez. “The concert series is something that I wanted to continue when I came into office.”
Future concerts in the series include: Ridin’ Shotgun (June 18); North Coast Concert Band (June 25); The Patriot Brass (July 2); Andrew Dean (July 9); Deutschmeister German Band (July 16); Ragtime Rick (July 23); Stranger than Friction (July 30); the Fremont’s Got Talent Show (Aug. 6), and Dana Dorsey & the Blue “Notes” (Aug. 13).
The Fremont’s Got Talent Show enters its eighth year as one of the city’s most popular summer events.
The show, sponsored by the Fremont Exchange Club, annually has drawn more than 1,000 spectators to Birchard Park to see the region’s best amateur singers, dancers and performers. Read more.
