Why are you running for office?
I am running for the at-large trustee position because I feel that I can
bring a unique perspective as an Exchange Club member and a CAP Center
director. I have skills in fundraising and grant writing for a
not-for-profit organization. I believe that I can help Exchange grow by
being able to promote our Foundation, our national projects and our mission
to our clubs. This in turn will help create a focus in our clubs that will
encourage club growth, building and support of the Foundation and its
programs.
What do you want to accomplish?
1)Help our Foundation to become more
financially stable
2)Define a clear focus of the Foundation
3)On a national
level enhance the support and interest in our national projects
How can the foundation increase
its income?
1)By increasing national corporate sponsorship
2)By
seeking grant dollars to fund specific needs and projects
3)By increasing
membership
4)By maintaining membership
Why is it important to support the
endowment?
The endowment gives the Foundation an opportunity to secure future and long-term financial stability.
How can we develop
greater member understanding and support for Foundation programs?
Programs have to be of interest to members. The Foundation has to promote
programs that also link with our projects and mission. I have found that
when clubs are able to develop a passion for one or some of
projects/programs, those clubs become vibrant, grow and maintain
membership.
Our Foundation must promote to clubs and members the projects/programs that
are successful and provide clear guides to help them participate and
implement the program.
Starting at the club level, how can we
build awareness and support for
the Parent Aide Program and child abuse prevention program of the NEC
Foundation?
We need to make sure that clubs are aware of the Parent Aide Program and the
child abuse prevention programs on the NEC Foundation. We must make sure
that CAP Center staff are members of the clubs. We have to encourage club
members to participate in CAP Center activites as well as CAP Center staff
participation in Exchange Club activities.
We need to have clubs meet clients of the Parent Aide Program and CAP
Centers and hear the clients stories.
Club meeting agendas should have references to the Parent Aide Program and
child abuse prevention and its connection to the National Exchange Club Foundation
multiple times throughout the year.
