2009 Convention speakers and
entertainers The 2009 National Exchange Club
Convention and CAP Symposium promises to be an invigorating and inspiring
event. Helping us get off to a great start are performances by a fun and
surprising mix of people.
The opening entertainment event will be a blend of comedy, a cappella
harmonies, and high-energy music. New!

Buzz Sutherland |
Buzz Sutherland will serve as
emcee for the evening, entertaining Exchangites with his smooth
blend of home-spun characters and outrageous facial expressions.
Buzz has won Comedian of the Year honors 13 times and was named
Comedian of the Year for the last five years by the National
Association of Campus Activities. He is well-known for his wonderful
ability to be funny without being offensive.

Rhythm Extreme
|
Adding excitement and high-energy
will be Rhythm Extreme. Multi-talented performers deliver
a fast-paced series of percussion performances using anything
and everything from ski-poles to frying pans. Add the troupe’s
talents at tap, singing, musical instruments, and even
juggling—and you’ve got one exhilarating show!

Chapter 6 |
Rounding out the evening will
be Chapter 6, a professional a cappella ensemble from
Illinois. Comprised of six vocalists and one arranger,
Chapter 6 is the only vocal ensemble to win both the
International Competition of Collegiate A Cappella and the
National Harmony Sweepstakes. Chapter 6 has appeared with
the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center, and
was featured on “American Idol: Season 7,” in conjunction
with bandmate, Luke Menard. Their family-friendly show
features a blend of pop/jazz harmonies and tongue-in-cheek
lyrics.

Dave Timmons
|
Dave Timmons is
slated to be the keynote speaker at the convention’s
opening session. Dave is dedicated to helping people
discover and develop the leader that lies within. He
inspires and motivates people to find new courage to
achieve breakthrough results. Dave connects with and
energizes his audience through humor, stories, and
creative lyrics. |

Bruce Sievers |
Guests at the One
Nation Under God Breakfast will meet James Bruce
Joseph Sievers, who speaks across the country
about the joy of being an American. Bruce has spoken
to thousands of groups all across America over the
last 30 years, including American Presidents –
Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan and George
Bush. President Ronald Reagan, along with the
Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge, awarded him the
George Washington Medal of Honor for his
presentation, “An American In Love With His
Country.” |

Tyler Bacon |
Completing our
slate of speakers is Tyler Bacon, who
will be the featured speaker at the CAP
Breakfast. At 23 years of age, Tyler is already
a seasoned national public speaker and advocate
for foster youth. He entered the foster care
system at the age of 13 and was placed in
several homes and schools before he aged out of
the system at 18. Since 2005, and after a brief
period of homelessness, Tyler has been working
with FosterClub, the national network for young
people in foster care. His passion for youth has
led to many positions on local, state, and
national youth and adult advocacy boards. Tyler
has spoken in front of the Congressional Ways
and Means Subcommittee on Income Security and
Family Support and with legislators in an effort
to change the foster care system. |
