Exchange Club of Charleston turns fun into funds for local non-profits!

Every year the Coastal Carolina Fair is held, not just for the enjoyment of rides and fair food, but to raise money for charities around the Lowcountry.

More than 235,000 people attended the 2016 fair and ticket sales raised $789,736 for 86 local charities and organizations that strive to better our community.

Held at the same site where the money is raised, Exchange Club members and nonprofit representatives gathered at the Exchange Park Fair Grounds in Ladson Saturday for a reception and the distribution of checks.

National Exchange Club President Elizabeth Grantham was on hand as organizations, including Camp Rise Above, accepted checks from the club.

The staff at Camp Rise Above will use their money to buy adaptive equipment for their campers, many who have life-threatening illnesses. Read more.
