Former Miss Azalea queens can still remember smiles they saw and lessons they learned from riding in the Azalea Festival Parade.
Many of them will ride again as grand marshals of the 50th annual Muskogee Azalea Festival Parade, 11 a.m. Saturday through downtown Muskogee.
Debbie Morgan, who directed the Miss Azalea Pageant for 33 years, said past queens are being asked to ride the trolley during the parade. She said she doesn’t know exactly how many queens will return.
“I’m getting a lot of women coming back and bringing their kids,” Morgan said. Read more.
