HEALING FIELDS®
DONATE $9,600 Dozens of acres of full size American Flags will be on display in host cities across America again this year during the Patriot Day observance. In the past these Healing Field® flag displays of honor, remembrance, awareness and healing have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for local charities and provided a means of hope and healing to visitors. The Vacaville, CA Healing Field Host Committee contacted the National Healing Field Foundation headquarters and requested a change in their proposed charitable beneficiary. Vacaville will now donate the money raised locally from their event to the Hurricane relief efforts in the south. The National Healing Field Foundation will follow their lead. Our national sponsor, Colonial Flag of Utah has always matched each flag on a sanctioned, registered Healing Field with a $1 donation to a pre selected national charity. In light of the recent disaster in the south, Colonial Flag representative will donate the $1 per flag from 5 of the Patriot Day Healing Field memorials scheduled this year to the Hurricane Relief efforts. These host cities are Vacaville, CA – Broomfield, CO – Jerome, ID and Lubbock, TX, for a total of 9,600 flags or $9,600 dedicated immediately to National Exchange Club Hurricane Katrina Relief fund. Organizers at the Healing Field Foundation encourage all visitors to any of these Healing Fields to support their efforts by sponsoring a flag on their local field or through the national web site. Sponsors will be given their flag at the end of the event to fly at home to continue the tribute. The work and mission of the Healing Field Foundation spontaneously emerged from a patriotic desire of citizens in Sandy, Utah to honor the memory of the victims of the September 11th tragedy with a symbolic field of U.S. flags. Response to this first Healing Field flag display from around the nation was so overwhelming that The Healing Field Foundation was formed to help other communities organize and present Healing Field flag displays in honor of Patriot’s Day, and other patriotic causes to help raise awareness and money for worthy charitable causes.
