Butts County Fair returns to Jackson

Complete with candy apples and carnival games, the Butts County Fair returned to Jackson last week drawing crowds of local residents and those from further away.

The fair has been hosted each year since 1952 by the Exchange Club of Jackson and is a fundraiser for the organization.

Taylor Rogers of Jackson came with her husband Heath and two daughters, Annsleigh, 4, and Paetyn, 1.

“We come every year,” Taylor said. “It’s a good place for the kids to ride rides.”

The fair, once again, was operated by midway company Prime Time Amusements, which brought rides like the Scrambler, the Octopus, the Ring of Fire and others for children and adults.

Stan Hogan, a member of the Exchange Club of Jackson and one of the fair’s organizers, said the fair is a tradition for the Exchange Club and for the community. Read more.
