Information on the 96th National Exchange Club Convention

The 96th National Convention of The National Exchange Club will be held Wednesday, July 9, through Saturday, July 12, 2014, in New Orleans, Louisiana. All convention sessions and meal events will take place at The Sheraton New Orleans Hotel unless specificallly noted otherwise. Make plans to join us this summer!

Reservations should be recieved by June 6, 2014, and will be honored on a space-available basis. Room reservations orders should be made as early as possible, by phone, mail or fax to the hotel, using the information below or the Room Reservation Request Form. The individuals listed below filed an application with the Executive Vice President, to run for a position on The National Exchange Club Board of Directors or The National Exchange Club Foundation Board of Trustees, by the March 12 deadline date. 

Four Exchangites have filed to run for the office of National President-Elect of The National Exchange Club at our National Convention in New Orleans, Louisiana, this July:

  • Russ Finney, of the Exchange Club of West Chester, Ohio
  • Ron Lashmett, of the Exchange Club of South Orange County and the Crossroads Exchange Club of Orange County, California
  • Dan McQueeney, of the Exchange Clubs of Charleston and James Island, and the Evening Exchange Club of Charleston, South Carolina
  • Brenda Robinson, of the Exchange Clubs of Angleton, Sugar Land and The Woodlands, Texas

Elections will be held for Regional Vice Presi­dents in even-numbered regions in New Orleans. The following individuals have announced their candidacy:

  • Region 2Jerry Thompson, the Networking Exchange Club of Salem/Keizer, Oregon
  • Region 4Carolyn Geisert, Exchange Club of Greeley and the Union Colony Exchange Club of Greeley, Colorado
  • Region 6 – For re-election, Phil Howard, the Ex­change Club of Donelson-Hermitage Area, Tennessee
  • Region 10Ted Noe, the Exchange Club of Rome, Georgia; and Barbara Orr, the Exchange Club of Mooresville/Lake Norman, North Carolina
  • Region 12Cindy Harb, of the Exchange Club of Plaistow, New Hampshire

One individual has announced his candidacy to run for the At-Large Trus­tee position on The National Exchange Club Foundation Board. In 2014, delegates at the National Convention will elect one (1) At-Large Trustee for a three-year term. Running for re-election is: 

  • Dennis Koch, Quincy, Illinois

There may be further nomina­tions from the floor for positions on both the NEC and NEC Foundation boards. Candidates run­ning from the floor must conform to the guidelines set forth in Article XIII (Nomination and Election of Officers and Directors), Sections 3 and 4, of the NEC National Bylaws; or, Article V (Board of Trustees), Section 1, paragraph (i), of the NEC Foundation’s Code of Regulations. A candidate desiring to be nominated from the floor must complete the official form obtained from the Convention Registration Desk in New Orleans, and submit his or her completed form to the Executive Vice President prior to 9:00 p.m. on the first day of the convention. All candi­dates must be endorsed in writing by at least three delegates from three different clubs within the per­son’s region, other than the candidate’s own club.
