Joan Lee, of KOLD News 13 Live This Morning and Fox 11 Tucson Now Daybreak led the panel discussion that revolved around how CAP Centers, working in conjunction with Exchange Clubs can make significant contributions to preventing child abuse in their communities.

Panelists include: Sue Mitchell, Director of the Greater Lawrence Community Action Council, Inc. – a partnership with the Exchange Clubs of the Merrimack Valley Michael B. Christensen Family Support Center, of Lawrence, Massachusetts. The Center has recently consolidated with an agency, Community Partnerships, and now provides coordinated family and community engagement programs. Region 12 Vice President Ferdinand “The Bull” Baez. “Ferdi” has worked closely with the Family Support Center for many years and currently serves on the Board of Directors. He has been a member of the Exchange Club of Greater Lowell, Massachusetts, since 2000, and has been active in Exchange for more than 28 years. Betty Wright, from Jackson, Michigan, has been a member of the Exchange Club of Jackson since 1994. Betty worked as a Parent Aide in a protective services agency and after this served as Executive Director for the Child Abuse Prevention Council of Jackson, MI for 13 years. Arvel “Buddy” Acoach, from Charleston, Arkansas is a member of the Exchange Club of Fort Smith, Arkansas, since 2001. Buddy has been actively involved with child abuse prevention organizations in his community. Leaders within Buddy’s region have united to create an initiative called, “Step Up, Speak Out! A Rally to End Child Abuse.”
