WHAT IS GIVING TUESDAY AND WHEN WILL IT TAKE PLACE?
We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals. Now, we have #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back. On Tuesday, November 28, 2017, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give back.
WHY SHOULD I GIVE THROUGH GIVING TUESDAY?
#GivingTuesday is an opportunity for each of us to invest in our communities and increase the capacity of work nonprofits are able to accomplish throughout the year.
During #GivingTuesday, employees are eligible to use any “matching funds” programs they have available through their employer.
HOW DO I MAKE A DONATION?
To make a donation by credit card, please visit our donation page HERE and donate securely through PayPal (on Nov. 28, 2017).

IS THERE A MINIMUM OR MAXIMUM DONATION I CAN MAKE THROUGH #GIVINGTUESDAY?
No, there is not a minimum or maximum donation amount for #GivingTuesday.
DOES IT COST ANYTHING TO GIVE THROUGH GIVING TUESDAY? HOW MUCH OF EACH DONATION WILL THE NEC FOUNDATION RECEIVE?
There are no add-on costs or charges when making a donation on #GivingTuesday.
For credit card processing, the credit card processing fees are assessed and deducted from the donation amount before it is sent to us. It is typically a fee of 2-3%. That fee is not assessed to the donor.
IS MY DONATION TAX-DEDUCTIBLE?
Yes. Donors may deduct contributions to the NEC Foundation as it is recognized as 501(c)3 by the Internal Revenue Service.
HOW WILL MY DONATION BE REPORTED ON MY CREDIT CARD?
Credit card donations via the website are processed by PayPal. The information showing on your credit card statement will be similar to: Payment Post Paypal NECF San Jose, CA. Donations made via the text-to-give option are processed through Stripe and will show as NEC Foundation on your credit card statement.
IS MY DONATION INFORMATION SECURE?
Yes. Donations made to the NEC Foundation through the website will be securely processed through PayPal (you do not need to have a PayPal account in order to donate). Donations made through the text-to-give option are securely processed through Stripe.
WILL I GET A TAX RECEIPT FOR MY DONATION?
Yes. Donors will receive and acknowledgement for tax purposes.
CAN I USE MY EMPLOYER’S MATCHING GIFTS FUNDS?
Yes. Please check with your personnel office if your employer matches contributions.

HOW DO I SET UP A RECURRING GIFT?
You may set-up recurring gifts through both the donation page on the website and the text-to-give option.
