Santa’s workshop moved to the Paramount Theatre Centre & Ballroom on Saturday for the annual Children’s Magical Christmas.
Surrounded by festive Christmas trees and dressed in his red satin suit, Santa and Mrs. Claus welcomed more than 300 children and adults for the 27th year of the event that raises money to fight child abuse.
The event, which is part of the Paramount’s Festival of Trees, offers a breakfast with Santa, loading kids up with cereal and doughnuts before they get a chance to sit on jolly old elf’s lap and ask for a special Christmas gift.
The Noon Exchange Club sponsors the event, with proceeds from the $5 tickets and raffle drawing split between the Paramount Theatre and the Anderson Family Resource Center.
Barbara Riggs, who has led the event for nearly three decades, said it’s all about helping children, both those who get a chance to get their picture with Santa and those in need at the Family Resource Center.
And over the 27 years of the event, she’s gotten to know many of the families who come back year after year. Read more.
